Today, New Mexico House Republicans sent a letter to House Speaker Brian Egolf requesting his commitment to enhance transparency in the House of Representatives. The letter contains three suggested rule changes that will enhance the public’s ability to engage and participate in the legislative process, as well as to generate public documents on how legislators vote throughout the process.
“We are always striving to make what we do in the Roundhouse more accessible to the public” said Jim Townsend House Minority Leader, “the proposed rule changes, with the Speaker’s support, will not only give the public more information, it will give legislators the needed time to make the informed decisions we were elected to make.”
